The final step before my first public release of Pixaria Gallery will be to post the user documentation online later this weekend.
The first draft of the documentation is somewhat limited and provides just enough information to allow users to install the script and upload and import images into their library.
Over time, as more users switch to Pixaria Gallery the documentation will be fleshed out by incorporating information requested by users and detailed instructions on various features like lightboxes and Smarty templates.
A message will be posted in the forum when the documentation is published and any feedback would be welcome.
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itWith Christmas now out of the way and the final days of 2005 slipping away, my thoughts are turning back to Pixaria Gallery and plans for the new year.
Pixaria Gallery 1.0 was released to selected users just before Christmas and the first sites using the script are already being built. The intention now is to complete the user manual and other documentation to enable a release at the start of January.
Expect to see big things from Pixaria Gallery in the neaw year as I build on the solid foundation of the new software to offer some products and services that I hope will blow you all away..!
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itPopPhoto Studio has been updated to version 3.6. The new release makes some changes to the image browser to improve navigation in large lists of thumbnails and adds support for Australian Dollars for users signed up to accept payments by PayPal.
The minor update also includes the latest version of Smarty and supports image captions longer than 255 characters.
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itFor those who don't know, version 1.0 of Pixaria Gallery is complete and the new script will be released in the next couple of weeks once the documentation has been completed.
Pixaria Gallery is a PHP and MySQL powered script that allows you to publish images on the internet and offer them for sale. It includes powerful tools for organising images into galleries, a built in e-cards implementation, blogging system with RSS news feeds, image watermarking and searching, user management with access control groups and easy to modify templates based on the Smarty template engine.
Pixaria Gallery has been built from scratch as a completely new script but is loosely based on PopPhoto Studio 3.6 so the interface will be familiar to previous users of that script.
Pixaria Gallery will be priced at $249 for new users and $180 for users of PopPhoto Studio 3.x.
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itWelcome to the new Pixaria website! Pixaria Gallery will be the successor to PopPhoto Studio and is well and truly on the path to becoming a best in class script for web based image publishing.
Over the coming weeks, once Pixaria Gallery has been released, you can expect to see some major announcements on how the new script will evolve to make the process of selling images online easier, faster and more profitable than ever before.
The discussion forums are online for any questions about Pixaria Gallery.
